"Finding My Direction``

" No effort that is made to attain something beautiful is ever lost...sometime, somewhere, somehow, we shall find that which we seek."
ABOUT US
In 2009 Alter Ego will be celebrating their 23rd year in competition. This is yet another exciting milestone for the guard, and especially for Mary Ann and Joseph Cinque, Executive Directors, who started the organization over two decades ago.
Alter Ego is a multi-time W.G.I. Independent A Class Finalist and medalist. After attaining the Independent A Class Bronze Medal in 1998 the guard was promoted to the next highest class of competition. Over the course of the next decade the color made finals 4 times in the Independent Open Class, and this past season was proclaimed the Independent Open Class World Champion at W.G.I. Championships in Dayton, OH. While waiting to take the floor in their final performance Joseph Cinque emotionally exclaimed, "...this is the moment we've been waiting 22 years for."
The W.G.I. Review Committee has completed their evaluation of the guard, and has promoted them to the coveted Independent World Class for the 2009 competitive season. Auditions will be here before you know it, and it is sure to be another exciting season in 2009!

Alter Ego Winter Guard Sees "Footprints of Angels"
The 22 chosen young men and women from all over the East Coast will take the floor this winter, and explore a tranquil and serene peace that many experience from their personal belief in Angels. Performing on a minimalistic floor and utilizing comforting shades of blue and yellow silk, the performers will use intricate staging and fluid choreography to deliver their message that no one is left behind. In a world filled with devastation, tragedy, and loss...may we all find comfort in the arms of an angel to carry us home.
Alter Ego will be competing in the Independent Open Class at the Salem Regional, Trumbull Regional, and the Northeast Power Regional; as well as W.G.I. World Championships in Dayton, OH. They will also be competing locally in the Mid Atlantic Indoor Network, and the Musical Arts Conference circuits.
